We’re extremely happy with the Touchstone Sideline Elite fireplace. The flame looks very realistic and bright, and being able to adjust the flame speed is a great feature. The flame and base color options are excellent and don’t look cheap at all. It’s definitely worth the extra cost compared to cheaper options—this looks and functions like a very high-end fireplace without having to spend thousands more. It added a beautiful, premium touch to our new media wall. It came with a log, driftwood and crystals. So, you can style it however you like. The only downside was the shipping speed. Delivery through Wayfair took about two weeks, which caused some inconvenience. Other than that, the fireplace itself is amazing. I just got this hung and it is going to be everything I was needing. It’s quite easy to hang as there is a square base you mount and then add the actual mirror at the end, so no having to hold a heavy mirror up while you plug it in. The unit looks fine from a distance. But once you look closer you'll notice a lot of minor issues: small spots around the edges not covered by the finish, door hinges that do not operate smoothly, wobbly panels - especially the large middle section at the top that just sags under its own weight. Trying to open that cabinet can feel like an exercise and the top panel is visibly moving as you're doing that. We tried to fix the movement of the top panel by inserting a rigid divider in the middle of the cabinet but that it pushes down the bottom panel so when the door is closed it looks visibly sagging. Overall it’s pretty good. Kind of pricey for the cheap materials but it does give a “grand look” when done. Took about 3 days to build everything. Pay extra attention to the instructions and orientation of the pieces which are sometimes hard to see in the pictures. **Ours in the final photo is still under construction..it needs to be leveled on each side. We also moved the top section close to the ceiling because we are going to build around it and make it into one full wall unit. I did most of it myself until the big pieces needed to be rolled over or stood up and when it came time to put the doors on. I was a little disappointed that one of the 4 units that came in looked like it was damaged and repaired but thankfully customer service offered a solution. Also about 4 of the door handle bolts were too small and wouldn't work. The shipping boxes were a little beat up but the packaging was good inside and it all survived getting to us.
