Initially, this was not a good experience. We paid $539 to have a 12 x 10 outdoor shed assembled in our yard.. Handy gave a time frame of 5.25 hours for assembly. 3 people showed up - one a professional, one a novice, and one with zero experience. My husband, who has construction experience had to leave work to help the crew decipher the instruction manual, measure and mark all the pieces of wood, and sort them in order to start the build, which took 90 minutes leaving about 3 hours to assemble the entire shed. After, 5.25 the crew had to leave because the time frame was over. I contacted both Wayfair and Handy, and they we quick to responding, sending out a new crew, 48 hours later at no additional charge. The 3 people who showed up were of equal experience, but still needed my husband's supervision and help. After 3.5 hours, the shed was done to the point of my husband being able to finish it on his own, so we released the crew. We were happy with their work. However, Handy did not assess the job appropriately from a time frame standpoint, and from the experience needed to handle a complicated build(shed included windows and dormers and an unusual roof line) We would estimate the job, when asking others in the construction business to a 15-20 hour build. My husband did not mind giving 5 hours of his time to help build the shed, but he did not like needing to supervise the job because Handy didn't send a supervisory type worker to oversee the job. And, it didn't sit well with either of us that my husband had to be part of the build in the first place.. Lynn. Fresno, CA. Mon Mar 28 2022
