Great quality and love the simple design. I didn't use this on a door that was made for a dummy handle, it was a working handle before. So the bolts didn't work with the hole that was already made in the door but I figured out a way to use a backer to hold it on. It won't be visible from the back so it works.. Susan. IN. Let me put the answer here, maybe it will help somebody else “Handing is determined by the exterior side of the door, whichever side the hinges are on.” The only concerning thing is that it’s hard to turn the lock, you need to put more forces than usual. Very sturdy and easy to install. We installed ours over where a round doorknob used to be. We still need to add a little wood filler, stains and paint to cover a small bit of the hole in the door at the top of the handle. This went on my interior laundry roommudroom door. Due to humidity and occasional dampness, the old, cheap knobs would become hard to turn. I have issues with arthritis in my hands. This is so easy to use compared to the round knobs. Nice piece, but it's really more of an institutional item and assumes that you are replacing an existing urinal or have framing in place to accommodate an install. Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports.
