The handcrafted shade is made using the same methods developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. This process entails using 228 hand-cut stained art glass pieces each wrapped in fine copper foil and soldered together at extremely high temperatures to form each unique piece. It's a beautiful table, however it came with a number of flaws and multiple significant cracks in the wood. In particular, there is an issue with durability.
