We’ve actually purchased this bed frame twice this year! We first bought the queen size for ourselves and were very happy with it. A couple of months later, we decided to upgrade to a king-size bed, so we gave the queen frame to our son and purchased the exact same bed frame again in king size. We love the quality. It’s made from solid wood, feels sturdy and well-made. It works with our new 16-inch-high mattress and adjustable base, although the headboard does look a little short with such a tall mattress and base. That’s something to keep in mind if you have a similar setup. Overall, we’re very happy with this bed frame. The fact that we liked it enough to buy it twice says it all. Overall the main bed frame has been solid - no shaking, which is what I was worried about. The headboard is another story, that part is not as well constructed so it's more decoration. It's also overall bigger that a Cal King mattress so there is an open space on either the top or bottom (picture), the sides are an exact fit. Since the frame is sturdy for, um, adult time, I'm glad we decided to save the money versus the much more expensive other stores! I love love love my bed! The gold detail is my favorite part. The bed is extremely sturdy! It was very easy to put together but it did take my husband and his buddies to put it together. The only downside was that it didn’t come with instructions. That’s why I’m giving it a 4 star. If it wasn’t for the missing instructions it would get a 5 star! We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand.
