this is a replacement for an older shade. Found the eyelets to be superior in this Royal unit but have not had time to install but from inspection the stitching is the key. This shade sail is made of a thick but flexible material that should provide just the right amount of protection from the sun without being a total "sunblock" (or completely waterproof) and the reinforced attachment points on the sail seem sufficiently strong. I haven't yet installed it, but the included kit appears to be very comparable to the separate installation kit I ordered just in case the included kit was flimsier or more difficult to use. This particular brand of sail offered a lot of different size options, which is ideal if you are looking for a sail to fit a space with unequal distances between the triangle points. The sail I ordered measures 20' x 20' x 28.3'. it came with a installation hardware kit but I can't yet comment on whether the hardware kit works well. I also ordered another hardware kit in case I needed a different installation option than the one included. Unfortunately, Wayfair said it delivered both when I never received the additional hardware kit. After waiting 3 days to see if there was a problem with how the item was scanned, I have reported the missing delivery and hope that I will receive that other installation kit so that I can choose which kit will work better for installing the sai.. With the prolonged winter in the mid-Atlantic, it finally got warm enough to install this. This is an extremely well-made and equipped sail. The material looks really good, and it is substantial, fairly heavy grade. The material is porous, so don't look for this to resist rain. All the hardware is provided. You don't have to go to the hardware store for anything. The ratcheting winches were easy to install and they do the job. The mounting rings on the sail and the edge wire reinforcements are solid and look like they will hold up under the stress of wind that the sail will undoubtedly need to endure. We love this so far!. This was an experience. First, I couldn’t clear the utility lines at my house but my friend’s deck was perfect. We started out confident, but it didn’t last. The wrenching apparatus was our downfall. In the end we decided to forgo the winch process and hung it only using the locking mechanisms. The sail is great. It feels strong yet pliable and it’s the perfect shade of summer red. I wanted to get this installed as soon as possible but as one end requires a post that needs to be cemented required digging near underground lines, we need to wait for "Miss Dig" to show up to let us know it's safe. However, as we all know what shade sails look like I wanted to take a minute to talk about the construction. This is hefty. The ends are crafted with a double row of stitching with upholstery thread (10x the strength as regular sewing thread), the fabric isn't one color but a mix of white and maize which adds a depth to it and will hide dirt better than a solid beige color, fabric is thick and sturdy, and the fact it comes with all the installation hardware is a bonus. Our sail shade poles for ground are precision machined from solid steel. They are 2.5 inches in diameter and 1.8mm thick. They consist of three connecting sections and total 10 feet in length.
