It is great once you get it together. The directions are not good. I think who ever created the directions needs to put one together to improve them. It takes a lot of time to put together. ***** Five stars for quality, but be warned: 1. You will need three or four strong people to put the heavy basic structure together and into place, and two people for the rest of the construction. 2. This is not a weekend project for a DIYer. 3. If you can, hire someone with experience. We did, and it was worth every penny. 4. Instructions were fairly good, but missing some crucial information that took some time to figure out. 5. Once figured out, all parts fit together well and pre-drilled holes lined up. 6. There are lots of painstaking details, like fastening thin pieces of weatherstripping around inside and outside of all plastic panels, to name but one. BUT, once put together, this is a very good-quality, beautiful room. We purchased a ceiling fan that converts to a heater and hope that, here in Ontario, we can use it as a three-season room.. There were not many detailed reviews for this when I bought it, so I wanted to provide as much as I can to help shoppers make a decision. This is a great addition to our home at minimal cost (compared to a deck or roof). But this build is not for the faint of heart! Make sure your husband, partner, etc. is mechanically inclined and has a case of beer or favorite whiskey nearby! lol. We took our time and finished this over 3 days. Following the instructions is a must (we learned that the hard way after skipping a step). There are lots of pieces. Best thing to do is lay everything out so you can easily identify the part numbers. (Lay in grass or on top of a tarp so you don’t scratch the paint.) The one thing they don’t account for is securing it to the ground and house. We had to buy all of the masonry screws to install the 4 posts in the concrete patio and 4 brackets on the side of the house. Additional tools are needed for masonry install, like a hammer drill. (Would be a much easier job if installing into wood.) Recommend spending the extra money for the 14’ if you have the space. Our furniture would have been too crowded under the 12’. So far no leaks. Time will tell if it holds up to snow this winter. There are 2 reinforcement posts included that go in the middle of the frame. We will be putting those up in the winter if heavy snow is expected. After searching and researching for over a month, I decided to go with a Purple Leaf 12x18 Hardtop Gazebo. I had two friends who are contractors by trade install the gazebo. It took them approx 10 hours. They stated even with 7 boxes this gazebo was the easiest, nicest and best well made gazebo they have installed. The gazebo looks high class so worth the money. I did notice a few scratches in the pillars once the boxes were open, since they were near the ground, I figured it was fine. Miy order was place Thursday, July 3 and I received all 7 boxes on Tuesday, July 8. Overall, I love my new outdoor space and I can not wait to add to it. I just wish Purple Leaf made more accessories to fit the gazebo. For instance, a permanent privacy wall, other designs of temporary privacy walls, tv mounts, bar counter to connect to a pillar, heaters, and or different types of curtain walls.. Susan.
