Was tempted to give this 3 stars, but it’s probably closer to 3.5 so I’ll round up. Overall, I’m very happy with how this dresser looks and the size. It was pretty hard finding something that we liked but also had round corners to make it safe for our 14 month old. There is a lot I wish was different about this dresser though. For one, it took my husband about 4-5hrs to build because it had so many steps and parts (and he is normally good at putting these things together). Second, for how large each drawer looks on the outside, it’s actually much smaller in width and height so you loose a lot more storage than you think (see photos). Lastly, I was expecting soft close drawers because they’re so standard these days. It’s not a smooth close and is actually quite stiff the close at the very end for a full shut. I recently purchased the Donati 9-Drawer Dresser and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering it. First, be prepared—this is definitely a project if you’re assembling it on your own. I started putting it together around 7 PM, worked until about 2 AM, then picked it back up the next day around 1 PM and finished around 6 PM. It’s time-consuming and can feel a bit challenging at times, but I actually enjoyed the process and found it rewarding to see it come together. There were a few minor issues with some of the wood panels having small chips, but nothing too noticeable once everything was assembled. Overall, the dresser is very sturdy and feels well-made. The finished look is absolutely beautiful and makes the effort worth it. If you’re patient and don’t mind spending the time assembling it, I would definitely recommend it. Honestly I am really happy with this dresser. It arrived extremely well packed, and the quality and workmanship are solid. There are a lot of parts and hardware but everything is clearly labeled and the instructions are detailed and easy to follow. I definitely recommend using your own tools, because the ones included are very small and will hurt your fingers after a few screws. With a friend and proper tools, it took 2 hours with no breaks. Doing it alone with the provided tools would take much longer. It is heavy and feels very sturdy once assembled, and the drawers open and close very smoothly. Putting together all 9 drawers is a bit of work, but totally worth it. I placed it in my entryway, it looks beautiful. The only small downside for me is the countertop.
