A simple turn of the knob adjusts the tilt angle (negative, neutral or positive position) and the height (up to 5.5 inches of total height adjustment). Re-tighten the knob to lock the position. Just pull or push the plate to adjust the position of the tray. I gave this four stars because it arrived in a smashed box and the mount and arm were not attached. It took a while to put them together.
