I discovered a pipe with wiring in the front yard this fall, so clearly the mystery of the switch by the front door has been solved. So I have been on the search for a new yard light post and fixture. This one looked great. It was well packaged to ensure there wasn’t damage. But upon opening the box, issues were apparent. The parts bag was empty, with a bag of screws loose on the top, and wire connectors rolling loose. I don’t know if I have all the ones I need. The instructions weren’t bad, but, honestly, I was surprised they were written out and not just graphically depicted. The hardware to connect all the sections of the post were already in the post pieces. Which is ok, except they treated/Painted the parts after the screws were put in, so that meant the joining part without the screw in it was missed. And the holes in the base were not circular, they were oblong. Please see the photos, and clearly drilled out after the finish treatment. Also, the outlets were installed upside down. All that aside, it was very easy to assemble without reading the directions. But now, to install the post on a base, it is going to have to wait until spring, because it requires the ground not to be frozen. It is definitely taller than I expected, and I am thrilled about it.
