The Y-Latch is a swing latch that provides adjustability to your gate. Designed to work with aluminum gates and is composed of steel, so it will withstand the most extreme weather conditions. This latch is is lockable in two places for extra security and works with 2" posts and 2" uprights.

This Y-latch is just what I was looking for, it is a little bigger then i needed, but it won't work with my gate. the space between the gate and the post is too small. I think you need at least 2in. The large water collection area prevents any kind of pooling and has a luxurious feel about it. Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports.
