This product is a replacement for the 6kw unit that i had for 10 years. I actually don't have a use for the lights and speakers as my shower is already done. Not very happy with the programmability of the unit. You can only run the unit in 30 min increments. So if it takes 15 minutes to get up to temp you have to run it for another 30 + 15 remaining from the preheat. Maybe I'll find a way to not have to add 30 min. After moving into our new home, we quickly discovered just how hard the water was. It was such a noticeable difference that we were actually driving back to our previous house just to shower while we researched a solution. Installing this water softener completely changed that. We've now been using it for well over a year, and I honestly can't imagine living without it. Our water feels much softer, soap lathers better, and our skin and hair no longer feel dry after showering. We've also noticed fewer hard water spots on our fixtures and dishes, and it's reassuring to know our plumbing and appliances are better protected from mineral buildup over time. The system has been dependable, easy to maintain, and has required very little attention beyond keeping the salt topped off. Once it's set up, it simply does its job in the background. If you live in an area with hard water, I highly recommend investing in a quality water softener.
