It is sturdy enough for being this light but I wouldn't say this is a heavy duty and sturdy box that will take abuse such as sitting on it or kids jumping on it. I absolutely cannot say anything bad about this chair except that it doesn’t come in more colors. Before it was even fully unwrapped it started to come to life. Within minutes of being unwrapped, it was fully sturdy. This sturdiness does make it heavy, so lift with your legs. We love our Hanson bed. We’ve had it for several years now and paired it with a Casper king size mattress. It’s very sturdy and doesn’t creak or shuffle when you move in bed. The color is beautiful. If any lint gets stuck on it, a quick electric lint roller solves that issue.
