I love the simplicity and low profile of this patio umbrella base stand! It says it’s 40 lbs. but it feels much heavier than that! It was extremely easy to assemble, five minutes! I’ve had my umbrella opened since I installed it and we’ve had rain and wind for the past week and this umbrella has not wavered or moved an inch! I’m in the process of finding a new outdoor table with an umbrella hole, and I have no worries that this base will keep the umbrella steady. I like the fact that it come with several hole adjustments for various size poles. I had to use the 1.5 inch hole tube. Update, have a new table with the umbrella hole. Suggest mounting it into a stud or installing blocking in the wall behind if possible because it sticks out far enough that a kid pulling on it or an adult using it to brace themselves could lead to major drywall damage.. I could not find the 28 inch wide option anywhere but here! We have double doors and the right side is max 28 inches. Came packaged really well! They were wrapped and then taped to a wood board and then wrapped in thick cardboard. No dents or bends!!! (I was worried about shipping!). I got the peel and stick option because we were not sure how well we would be able to drill into our 1960's doors. Wanted kick plates because the very bottom of the old wood doors is starting to weather. My only complaint is that the mounting tape goes across the back in three strips (from end to end) and the tape goes up to the edge so it's kind of visible. I didn't try to peel it back before mounting because I did not want to dent or bend the plate. I doubt many people would even notice, but things like that tend to stand out to me. I'm going to try to push it back/tuck it in a little with a small screwdriver or knife or something....if it does bother me that much. Mounting was super simple btw!!!! And it's holding well.. Beth. I would give this base 5 stars but it is a bit wobbly, but my husband is going to be able to fix it once we get help from the manufacture. The directions are brief and do give an email address to get help. The reason we needed to buy this base was because after 1 year and two weeks the Kelly Clarkson table we bought from Wayfair cracked at the base rendering it useless. Wayfair would not make good on the table as it was 2 weeks over the year warranty but did give us a $50 gift certificate plus 10% of a purchase so we bought this base which makes the table look ten times better then the Clarkson base.
