It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. This is a nice sturdy desk. It does take hours to put together but the instructions are easy to follow and very accurate. I gave it only 4 stars because of the time it takes and the fact that the electrical part of the desk could have been easier to hide cords and such.
