I purchased this mid-century TV stand from Wayfair and came away genuinely impressed, especially given the price point. The construction is primarily particle board with a faux wood grain finish, but I have to say—the surface looks and even feels surprisingly close to real wood. Visually, it punches well above its weight. Assembly is fairly straightforward, but it’s not something you can do on autopilot. The instructions rely heavily on small diagrams that indicate panel orientation, and the details are quite fine. Take your time, study each step carefully, and you’ll avoid headaches. As an industrial designer, I pay close attention to both form and function, and I can confidently say this piece delivers strong value for the money. That said, this is not heirloom-quality furniture—not even in the same universe. But it’s not trying to be. It’s a well-designed, good-looking piece that, if treated with care, should hold up nicely and look great for years. If you remember one thing from this review, don’t over-tighten any fasteners or you will very likely compromise the integrity of that connection. May the force be just right for every connector bolt—because this is less “Imperial starship engineering” and more “scrappy Rebel budget build,” and it performs best when you respect its limits.. Why can’t all flat pack furniture be this easy to put together! I love this TV stand for so many reasons. One of them is that it was a dream to build. It genuinely took me on my own 22 minutes from opening the box to positioning the fully built unit into place. I couldn’t imagine how a no tools build would go. And I was a bit unsure how stable it would be, but I needn’t have worried. The unit is solid and all the pieces fit perfectly together. The unit looks far more expensive than it is and fits beautifully with my mid century modern look. My only issue with it is that I can’t understand why they only give you one shelf when there are 3 sections. We haven’t completely finished assembling this TV stand yet, but I already wanted to leave a review because we are so impressed with it. The quality is great, the design is beautiful, and it looks much more expensive than expected. The white finish and wood top are a perfect combination and fit our living room style perfectly.
