I was concerned about wobbling and squeaking, but it was sturdier than I expected. I tested the top bunk myself (I weigh about 180 lbs). It also looks nice. My 14 and 11-year-old girls love it. I did use my own right-sized rubber washers for non-critical bolt connections. I also used Bunkie Boards on the slats to spread the weight, minimize further squeaking/sounds and protect the mattresses. They can't wait to decorate it with different stuff. No regrets so far.. We purchased the blue bunks. The color is beautiful for our grandsons big boy room. My husband assembled the beds in 3- 3 12 hours. The parts were labeled and ready to go. One person can easily assemble the beds but it does require a second person to help lift the beds. The color matches the dresser perfectly.
