The tree arrived in a lightweight, easy to manage box. It is about 3 inches shorter than 78" which is fine as it is handmade. The branches are attached securely and the trunk (made up of four intertwined trunks) looks very realistic. The leaves are a medium green and quite attractive. It took only a few minutes to "fluff" to my taste. The fact that it didn't come with a decorative pot was good as I had my own pot. The ficus Alii, or Amstel King as it is sometimes called, is a large plant that originally came from Asia, Malaysia, and India. It was first grown commercially in Hawaii where it got the Hawaiian name alii which means king. Although a ficus Alii is closely related to the ficus Benjamina, the Alii variety is much more tolerant and forgiving. The long, narrow leaves are naturally glossy and taper to a point. As this ficus tree grows, it may drop its lower leaves revealing a bare woody trunk, giving this tree a palm-like appearance. Care is easier than for many of its relatives. You'll find it's less temperamental than F. benjamina, that drops its leaves when it doesn't get what it wants.
