True to color. It does slide on flooring when you step on peddle to open top. You do need some space from wall to prevent scraping. I absolutely love this garbage can! As you can see it looks so good in my kitchen. The beige matte color matches everything in my kitchen. Looks very modern and classy. I purchased one that is 8 gallons, it is big enough for just my husband and me. The garbage bag fits perfectly and is easy to place. The back of the garbage can has a handle on it which makes it easy to move around wherever you need it. It closes softly and will stay open by just pushing back on the top.
