(The only reason for a 4-star rating is due to the plastic hose and handwand. All other aspects are a strong 5-star!) The handheld shower unit came with a plastic hose, which I immediately replaced. I am sure the plastic one would have worked well, but the metal replacement looks much better and will last longer. Update on previous review: We have enjoyed this shower system for 3 months and it has been amazing! The water pressure and flow is excellent - much better than expected. The upper head has 2 settings: rain and typical spray. The rain setting is very soothing and soft. The typical spray setting provides a lot of water at great pressure. As noted above I replaced the plastic hose with stainless steel hose. That has worked well. In addition, I actually replaced the hand wand with a Moen unit and prefer it over the one that came standard. (The Moen unit has additional spray settings that the standard unit lacked) The controls on the system are excellent, allowing temperature control on one stalk and water distribution on the other. I really like the ability to set temperature independent of the "on/off" valve. I also love the surface mounted aspect of the system. Not only is it attactive, but this design will make servicing it much easier should an issue arise. Our plumbers commented on the quality of the unit and how easy it was to install. The effortless enjoyment of Gerber® Plumbing Fixtures floor mount tub fillers begins with the simple installation of the rough-in valve. The rough-in valve can be installed in any direction as long as the bathtub center line is aligned with one of the six screws on the plaster guard. The plaster guard has a flat top for easy leveling in installation to ensure the trim will be standing straight after installation. A test cap and plugs are included for pressure testing the connection between the rough-in valve and water supply lines.

To make sure everything fits perfectly, there are Unica shower bars in different lengths, with shower hose and brackets, to suit all conventional hand showers. Whoever uses the bathtub for bathing and showering would also want to be as flexible as possible when positioning the shower head. In the shower, hip height is sufficient as a lower limit; there you should perhaps opt for the 24" wallbar or you could go for a 36" wallbar depending on your needs. It brings incredible amounts of freedom of movement, making it perfect for families with children and grandparents. To help ensure that the shower hose is a perfect length it is included along with many bars.

First, the finish quality on this tub is very good, looks good. my main concern, and why I did not give it 5 stars is because the specifications and the CAD drawings spec the actual length at 66". However, the length is actually 65-3/4 " at the top of the tub and 65-5/8"at the bottom. This presented a problem requiring one of the end walls to be furred out so that the backerboard and tile installed correctly My rough-in was at 66-1/16" so as to allow the tub to slide in easily if it had been the length shown.
