The rectangular shape of this pan was inspired by the Japanese makiyakinabe pans that are used for rolled omelets called tamagoyaki. The rectangular omelet can be filled and rolled evenly and then cut into slices with an identical diameter. My only complaint is that sometimes I hit the drain with my bottom and it pops up very easily! Good for a laugh when that happens!!! So glad I went with Vintage Tub and Bath for this purchase!
