I was so apprehensive about this piece, I almost cancelled it, but my husband felt itd be perfect, and he was right. The description says it is white, but it is really an off-white with a wood grain (see my image), which I feel makes it look more elegant than stark white. It also says it has a glossy front and top, but the whole thing is matte. It looks so much nicer in person. It was daunting in the box, but really wasnt bad to put together. My husband said it is very well constructed compared to other pieces weve had to assemble. The fireplace itself is pretty, very quiet, and does a great job when using the heat function. The remote works great. The cabinet shelves and doors are very sturdy, ours is full of books with no weakness in the shelves. It is a lovely piece at a good price and we are really enjoying it..
