I'm having these replaced because the glass section width varied by 1/4 inch, so it looked bowed in the middle on both doors. The metal strips are laid on top of the plastic and seem like cheap afterthoughts. I might try to seal then closer to the door so that it looks like it is embedded into the plastic.
