5x5 Base Plate Cover

Bought two of these as a Frankenstein solution to make another brand of single hole faucet (that came without any cover plates) work with my pre-drilled 3-hole counter tops. The cover looks pretty good with the modern style chrome faucet it was paired with and it does a good job being a cover for the most part.... For me, the lack of attachment mechanism cost it one star. It doesn't have any way of securing the sides to the counter so when the faucet is tightened down it causes the ends to bow up about 1/8th of an inch on each side. Nice product and did the job. Glad to have found the wood option, but my paneling inside the wall-covered bookcase is birch and the closest choice I found online was cherry. Looks better and less obvious than the old brass cover I replaced from previous owner. I could not find the 28 inch wide option anywhere but here! We have double doors and the right side is max 28 inches. Came packaged really well! They were wrapped and then taped to a wood board and then wrapped in thick cardboard. No dents or bends!!! (I was worried about shipping!). I got the peel and stick option because we were not sure how well we would be able to drill into our 1960's doors. Wanted kick plates because the very bottom of the old wood doors is starting to weather. My only complaint is that the mounting tape goes across the back in three strips (from end to end) and the tape goes up to the edge so it's kind of visible. I didn't try to peel it back before mounting because I did not want to dent or bend the plate. I doubt many people would even notice, but things like that tend to stand out to me. I'm going to try to push it back/tuck it in a little with a small screwdriver or knife or something....if it does bother me that much. Mounting was super simple btw!!!! And it's holding well.. Beth.
