It is very nice and more sturdy that I thought it would be. We didn’t bolt it to the deck because we didn’t want to drill into Trex. But we did bolt it to the house which worked good. The instructions are a little confusing in some parts because the pictures are tiny. And after I sliced my finger pretty good on the metal roof, I understood why they give you gloves. Razor sharp. The 12x20 pergola I ordered is close to 1000 pounds shipping in 7 boxes so the heaviest single box is about 150 lbs so two people are needed to move it around. The instructions recommended 4 people for the install. I had my brother to help but due to the weight I wanted 6 people (one at each post) to move the assembled product to minimize damage to the frame. High quality parts all around but because it’s all aluminum that is great for lower weight but it is still 1/2 ton of weight that needs to be moved around during an installation. One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. I put together these and they work great. I got the base kit plus the extender. Only reason they got four stars instead of five is because while they came with bolts, I was eight short and had to run to the hardware store to get more carriage bolts, and of course I could not find them in black so they don't match.. I put together these and they work great. I got the base kit plus the extender. Only reason they got four stars instead of five is because while they came with bolts, I was eight short and had to run to the hardware store to get more carriage bolts, and of course I could not find them in black so they don't match..
