This firepit came undamaged during shipping, I was a little nervous at first as I believe I got the last one in the dark grey color. It worked right away after it was setup. I am excited to use for a party I have this weekend but it looks really nice. I like that it comes with the middle insert so it can be used as a table. I like the modern look of this unit without the "wind glass" but not sure if Ill regret that. I don't think any units in this price range have both the middle insert & the wind glass. While Meyda offers many far more colorful lights than this one, it turned out to be a great choice given that most of the other elements of the room were already bringing in a lot of color. The mica is reasonably opaque — the location of the ballast and wires are not immediately apparent when someone sees the light — but lets a lot of light through, as we had hoped; some craftsman-style lights are so heavily colored as to make them nearly useless for illumination, but this one lights up the room nicely. The light was carefully packed and arrived in fine condition.
