These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Beautiful quality and perfect for a DIY standing desk I purchased this unfinished Acacia butcher block to use as the desktop for a standing desk build, and the final outcome is absolutely beautiful. Right out of the gate, the delivery was incredibly fast. The packaging was also fantastic—it was heavily protected and arrived in much better shape than other wood countertops I’ve purchased in the past. When I first lifted it, I noticed it was a bit lighter than I expected for solid wood. This is actually a huge positive; it tells me the manufacturer used a proper, thorough drying process, which means the wood is stable and much less likely to warp over time. The wood itself is extremely high quality. The block had one side with a perfectly formatted, gorgeous grain pattern, which I immediately chose as the top facing side for my desk. Since it comes unfinished, I applied my own oil and wax. As you can see in the photos I uploaded, the finish brought out the rich, natural colors of the Acacia perfectly. I purchased this Howard End Grain one as it was on sale and just in case I need a new board in the future. It comes very well packed as you can see in the photos. I have two sizes of cutting boards 17x13 and 15x20 and they are on different sides of my kitchen counters and I do everything on them. It is much better than the plastic cutting board as you can see the plastic coming off the board as you cut your vegetables, meat or chicken on it. This product is made from acacia wood from Thailand, a non-endangered species that is not harvested from rainforests. We plant a tree for every tree we use. After use, wash this product in warm soapy water and wipe excess water off with a dry towel. Never soak or leave water on the wood during drying as it may result in warping over time. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect your board by rubbing it down with butcher block oil after each use. When the board is dry, apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our butcher block oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood. From time to time, the surface may become "Bumpy". This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. You can simply use high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and oil it again to bring it back to the new!

After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with Ironwood Butcher Block Oil. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of our Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.
