I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. This is the best!!! I’ve never felt so confidently clean leaving the restroom. The remote is easy to use once you learn the symbols and it adjusts the heat of the seat, heat of the water and the distance that the cleaning and drying wands come out to get a personalized experience. Plus you can adjust the water stream to go full pressure or go a little easier, depending on your needs. The dryer works well and I love the little odorizer that seems to work really well too. We got a longer seat and a shorter seat version (both sold here). The longer seat is about the size of a regular toilet seat and the regular seat size feels more like a kids sized seat, so I recommend the longer seat regardless of the size of your toilet bowl.. This is probably the best Toto bidet toilet out there, I'm surprised it doesn't get enough advertisement. We have had probably 4 or 5 different bidet toilet between Kohler and Toto and this one definitely comes on top. It's the perfect size and the seat is comfortable. I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. My driveway has now gone through two winters and the sealant is still somewhat effective, but I think I will need to coat it again this fall.. Bryan. Halifax, NS. Thu Mar 26 2026
