i have both the 25 qt and the 52 Qt BMX caolers. Their rotomold design allows you upgrade them to the performance level of the much more expensive yeti and Rtic brand coolers. Common to both of those manufacturers , the BMX coolers incorporate a molded lip along the edge on the underside of the lid ,which when closed, fits into a channel that runs along the top of the cooler walls.By adding adhesive backed 1/4 inch rubber weatherstrip "D" ( Inserted into the channel) you increase the ice retention to match that of the Yeti and RTIC product, as that rubber weather stripping is really the only functional element that distinguishes the 3 brands.. The price was better than other roto-molded coolers on the market, but it did not perform much better than my injection molded ice chest and it had some significant drawbacks Pro: -pretty -leak proof -cheaper than yeti, rtic, etc -divider and basket -love the drain Con: -heavy (30 lb empty) -over 3x as much as my old igloo and did not seem any better at holding ice -SHALLOW! At 10 qt more than my other cooler I wasn’t planning on it being so much shorter inside. I went to put in a jug of ice coffee and it was too tall to fit ‍♀️ -trying to copy the mesh netting on the rtic was a cool idea, but the dumb adhesive/velcro did not hold up. Michael. CA. We took a road trip from PA to SC last week, and I followed the pre chilling suggestions (set both sections to -4° for a minimum of 3-4 hours before filling) from the reviews.. I adjusted one section to 34° after I filled the refrigerated food while leaving the the frozen food set to -4°. I did add a few freezer blocks to the tops of both sections before we closed the lids. On the trip down we stayed overnight in a hotel halfway to SC.. To my delight our food was in perfect condition when we unpacked it!! This cooler can be used camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tailgating, etc. Once you close the cooler, it becomes airtight so everything inside stays colder longer. I put ice in this cooler on a Thursday and I still have ice in it on a Monday. I really like the latches on this cooler because they’re really easy to lock in place when closing the cooler. No struggling to keep it closed and secured. The latches are made out of what feels like rubber, and some metal so it’s very durable. The latches actually double as a bottle opener on the front of the cooler that makes it very convenient for any event. The carrying handles are made of rope and a handle molded for hand and finger placement for easy carrying. This is a very nice electric cooler. It has plenty of space. It cools quickly. It is rather large for camping, but when you expect to gone an extended number of days or have a large family, you will not have to fuss with various trips for ice bags. I highly recommend.. Linda.
