The fan appears well made fan blades are actual real, solid wood and are very nice quality - no painted fake finish here. The surround that covers the motor is metal and nicely made. It fits flush against the ceiling. The fan also comes with a remote that controls both the fan and the LED light and you can change the color tone and brightness of the light. Received our white Hunter fan very quickly. Was somewhat easy to install. We had an issue with the existing electrical box in the ceiling matching up with the base, but we resolved it. Biggest disappointment was that the light fixture is advertised as glass but ours is plastic! It was already installed when we noticed so Wayfair couldn’t do much for us. Beautiful ceiling fanlight for small to medium rooms. I very specifically ordered the matte finish to avoid any reflections but the blades still have a fairly reflective surface. The base of the unit is made of sturdy materials. However, the pieces that handle the most movement seem the be made of the plastics you’d find in the toy bin at the bargain store when you’re running late for a child’s birthday party. The remote looks very nice but feels cheaply fragile and awkward in your hand. The blades are plastic and very light and feel almost flimsy. The lights make up for all the flaws. The ceiling fan we had you could not even feel it on high speed. We replaced it with this one and even on a low number on the hand held remote, I can feel it in another room. It is well made and I love the two tone with the black base and brown blades. I was looking for one with metal blades, but I do not think it would have had any more effect than this one. This can be put in reverse mode too and that helps to throw any cool air from the ac that rises, back down into the room.
