This vent cover looks really nice in my newly renovated bathroom. It is quite stylish and complements the other gold fixtures in the room. My reason for only rating it 4 stars is that it was missing the vent mounting clips and instructions when it arrived. While Wayfair sent the clips several days later, I feel it never should have been sent without them. The write-up said that they were included in the packaging and since other customers have noted this omission, quality control should have caught this error.. Ruby. Temple Hills, MD. Sat Jul 11 2026

Add a clean, decorative finish to your wall or ceiling supply vent with this unfinished wooden register made from a 1/4" thick birch wood panel. Each register is crafted to fit the selected duct opening size and includes 2 installation holes with 2 standard steel countersink screws. Decorative brass screws may be available as a selectable option. The natural unfinished wood surface can be painted or stained to match your room, trim, ceiling, or wall décor. White semigloss paint is available as a selectable option.  These registers are designed to screw into drywall. For the best fit, order by the actual duct opening size, not by the size of your existing cover. Remove the old register, measure the inside width and length of the duct opening, and select the matching size, with width listed first and length listed second. For example, a 6" x 10" duct opening will have an overall vent size of approximately 8" x 12", allowing a 1" border around the opening for installation. Please note that this decorative register cover does not include louvers or a damper box to redirect airflow. All our designs are airflow tested to guarantee maximum efficiency.

ORDERING CORRECT SIZE: Always measure the duct opening size to determine which size to purchase. This size fits a standard duct opening of 4”x10”. To measure your duct opening for a 4" x 10" vent, simply measure the width and length of the inside edges of the duct opening. The width should be 4 inches, and the length should be 10 inches. Ensure your measurements are taken from edge to edge for an accurate fit. Do not measure the old vent cover, remove the old vent and measure the duct opening. EASE OF INSTALLATION: FOR FLOOR: installation is gravity drop. The Achtek Vent from Registers & Hardware fits seamlessly into floor openings without the need for tools ensuring a quick and hassle-free setup. This makes the installation process smooth and efficient, ensuring your vent covers are securely and aesthetically installed. FOR WALL/CEILING: Counter sunk screw holes, provided with matching screws. LOUVERS / DAMPERS: The grilles come with detachable and adjustable metal louvers, featuring horizontal parallel slats, fins, or blades. These can be manually opened or closed using a lever on one side of the vent to regulate airflow from the air duct. The louvers/dampers are secured to the vent face with machine screws, allowing for easy removal or reattachment as needed. DURABILITY & QUALITY MATERIAL: Handcrafted in Solid Sand Cast Aluminum with heavy gauge face plate thickness of approx. 3/16" (4.76 mm), these vent covers are built for durability. Aluminum metal has property of being rust and corrosion resistant in any weather condition. STURDY: Our vent covers are suitable for cool and hot airflow as well as fireplace grills. The heat-cured, fine grain powder-coated finish ensures durability and long-lasting performance. RUST-RESISTANT: The durable metal construction ensures easy maintenance and long-lasting quality. Rust-free metal makes Achtek vent covers ideal for both residential and commercial use and may be used indoors as well as outdoors. VERSATILE USAGE: Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, offices, dens, foyers, hallways, porches, and garages, these versatile vents ensure proper ventilation throughout your space. Sturdy and a nice matte finish which seems durable. Fit the advertised sized vent box, 3 in 6x10 and 1 in a 6x12. Pleased with the appearance. I docked one star for the following. If you have standard sized duct boxes you will need to install the provided spring clips or the register will slip around when you step on it. There are no directions provided but I found a video on YouTube. You’ll need a #2 Phillips screwdriver. The screws that hold the damper to the register on the long sides are the mounting location for the spring clips. The screws provided and the existing ones that hold the damper to the register are too short (1/8”) to properly attach the spring clips, though the YouTube video will tell you otherwise. I used 8x32 (which is the proper thread) x 3/8” purchased at a local hardware store. 1/4” would have been perfect but the shortest I could find were 3/8”. The extra length didn’t interfere with the damper operation. Be sure to install the spring clips vertically, sticking down below the damper, and with the bent tip facing in towards the damper. That will make it simple to slip the register into the duct. If you install them with the bent tip facing outward the clip will not sit flush on the register and the spring clips will catch on the duct when you try and install the register. That done the registers went in securely and don’t move around.. Travis. New Orleans, LA. Sun Sep 03 2023
