This is fine as a shelf...and could possibly hold a 10 gallon tank. I ordered it for a 20 gallon tank, tried to cancel once I realized that the capacity for the top shelf was only 110 lb! A filled 20 gallon tank weighs between 200 to 245 pounds completely full with water, gravel, and basic gear. The seller refused to cancel the order. Buyer beware! I bought this stand for a new 40-gallon tank that I am setting up. This aquarium stand was shipped and delivered on time with no damage. Assembling it was a bit of a challenge because the top was slightly bowed. It took a rubber mallet and 200lbs of weight to get it lined up so I could screw it down. The openings in the back panel aren't really useful for my purposes. The designers only considered tanks with hang off back (HOB) filters. If you are using a canister filter that resides in the cabinet below the tank, you will either have to leave the back panel off or get creative with a saw. I got creative with a saw and cut a hole in the back big enough to easily accommodate the filter's output/return hoses and provide easy access for maintenance. This stand seems sturdy enough to support the 450lb+ weight of a filled 40-gal tank. It's not what I'd call high quality or high-end decorator, but so far it suits my tastes just fine.. Nicole. I was pleasantly surprised at how quality the material was, how many pieces there were (in terms of stabilization and support), and how in-depth the instructions were. I think I’ve been so used to poorer quality items from other companies with unclear instructions and this item was the complete opposite. I bought this bookcase to act as a TV entertainment stand. The area I wanted to put it had very specific measurements that meant I couldn’t have anything longer than 45” and this fit perfectly. I believe the top of the bookcase has a weight limit of 50 lbs so for reference, the TV I put on top is an older model 42”, with plenty of space on the sides and heavier than super new TVs but definitely under the weight limit. The bookcase is very sturdy and the materials include these little white covers to hide the cam locks and I hadn’t seen those before. They were nice to use to keep the look clean and neat, no signs of any hardware. Again, I can’t emphasize the instructions enough, the booklet came with QR codes to pull up and watch videos of some of the more in-depth steps. I thought this was well worth the price.. Anonymous.
