The picture doesn't do it justice. The background is a bright white with gold and silver accents. It is elegant yet contemporary. My backsplash is 15" high so I had to decide if I wanted one or two of the gold and silver patterns to show. Either way I would be losing a lot of tile so I would need quite a bit more than anticipated. I think it would be best to use on a larger area so you can see pattern after pattern. I will say the install was very nerve wracking because you had to attach these hooks to the balls and then attach them to the springs that are on the flushed mount. It puts you in the mind of attaching hooks to a Christmas ornament. You have to be very careful when installing not to risk dropping and breaking one.
