My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. It looks nice and is perfect for what I need! But the screws for the box need to be longer. I had two come out within minutes of putting them in. I really like this window unit because it needed almost no modifications. The screen seems to be bug-proof and the window is very clear for bird-watching. All components were there and it was installed easily. I waterproofed the wood to make it last longer. The plexiglass is very thin and looks like it could crack easily, and since the roof is the same thickness I added another piece over the roof so it wouldn’t cave if covered in snow. Love this! Debated about the purchase for a while, but finally went for it, and my cats are in love. Its sturdy and assembly instructions are straight forward. Plenty of room for both of my large cats (about 12-14 lbs each). I added some finer screening around it to keep bugs out (just stapled it to the frame) and created a wood frame that fits inside my window so it can be secured without attaching it to the exterior of my house. I was not sure whether it would work for my cats or not so it was good enough size and price for me to give it a try. I needed one with open bottom because my cats eat our grass. For that reason, I searched and searched until I found this one. the bottom slats are movable with this one. It works for us. It also looks pretty cute and leaving it on our front yard is not an eye sore. It is not hard to put together but you need to pay attention to put the right pieces in right places. It took me a few hours. It is light weight so it can be easily moved around by myself. My cats like to be in the cage for an hour or two.
