I have two senior dogs and it gets cold here in the Northeast. The cover on this pet heating pad is so soft and it is removable and can be machine washed. There is a timer setting and the temperature range is from 61-69. The instructions say different temperatures but the ones I mentioned are the ones on the remote. I do like that the cord is protected with a casing around it, my dogs are not chewers but this is a nice feature for the ones that are. I have two smaller dogs so they both fit on this pad. We installed the PetSafe invisible fence system 2 years ago. The directions were easy to follow and It was easy to install. We trained our cat on this invisible fence and we haven't had him leave the premises since. With this system he gets to run around and play in a large area (about an acre), but stays within the boundaries we set for him. When we got our puppy, we purchased an additional collar and we trained him on it as well. He also stays withing the set perimeter.
