It is solid wood and looks pretty good. There were no drill holes for the screws which was a first for me so putting it together was a little weird. Some of the parts didn't line up perfectly because the screw would catch wherever it wanted to and pull in some direction. In the end it all worked out and I doubt anyone would really notice except the person who put it together. So this is kind of a "you get what you pay for" kind of situation, but if paying less and getting something half-decent is the goal, then this will do the trick. I really like the look of this cabinet! I got it to house my purses. It fit perfectly into my entry closet, although I had to finish constructing it inside the closet, which was tricky. The wood is solid and really nice, but I could not get all the screws super tight, and a couple of them stripped. I wish it came in more finishes, as I would have liked it to match the floor.. Dawn. The bookshelf is wonderful. Very sturdy and it looks high quality. As you can see I am using for our tv and it’s deep enough where the hdmi cords have room to be plugged in horizontally into the back of the tv. One heads up though, the package is HEAVYYY so be ready to have someone help you carry it in. Other than that, once it was built (which the assembly was so easy) it wasn’t to hard to move around to where I wanted it.
