The assembly instructions don’t tell you how to insert the gold pieces, so I’m sharing the trick here. You won’t be able to push in the gold pieces with your fingers and the holes will seem too small, but the pieces will fit - you have to use a mallet. Tilt the piece and use your mallet to gently tap in one edge of the piece so that it lodges crookedly in the hole. Okay so it is absolutely gorgeous. But it is a picture of the wood color on top of basically really heavy plywood. The seats and bench and legs of the table are solid wood very sturdy. The bench is screw on legs where the chairs you had to do a few more steps. Which were easy. You do need a power tool to put the chairs together. The packages mg could have been better but I was lucky that it didn’t get damaged even though some of the boxes came shredded. I knew it was going to take a few weeks to ship and it actually came a few days earlier than expected. It comes in 5 boxes so if you think you’re missing something make sure you have all the boxes first. Really happy with the purchase. Wish it was true solid wood but the plywood or type of wood is really heavy and solid with the printed wood finish is done really well so I’m still happy with my purchase. Hope this helps.. Julie. This set is not an heirloom piece by any means, but for the sale price and our particular needs (light use, able to sit 6+ people without a huge footprint), we are pleased. Arrived quickly (3 days) in two large boxes delivered together. Assembly was very straightforward. The quality isn’t superb and the materials will chip/dent easily, but the pros outweigh the cons for us, especially since this set will not be used daily. It’s hard to find an uncomplicated set that has clean lines, easy to pull out chairs for dusting, and vacuuming/mopping floors underneath, while still looking quite formal and elegant. First problem was that a couple of the pieces were broken upon arrival. However, customer service was super responsive and shipped us new parts within a week. Next, the instructions are very confusing, especially if you wish to assemble this table with the long side facing left. However, after all is said and done, the table looks great and the quality is superb once all of the pieces are put together correctly. Setup was done by 2 people at most times, as mentioned, there were points of confusion. When the pieces were found to be broken, we couldnt resume until the pieces were shipped to us, which had been quick. After having this nook for a month, it works really well - we use it everyday for breakfast, and dinner. The cushions are comfy enough for eating, and the bench is a nice addition for when there is not enough room on the main bench. You can fit about 4-5 people with this nook, depending on how big people are. One thing that I wish was a bit better was the sturdiness of the table, as it can move if you push it a tiny bit.
