I purchased the 3-shelf size, 36" H X 48" wide. It holds my entire cookbook collection and does double duty as a divider between the foyer and kitchen/dining area. Beautiful, heavy wood in the mission style. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the backing. I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. The back of this bookcase is some sort of shiny, vinyl covered panel and the color is awful. Maybe it was meant to be faux marble, but they missed by a mile. I’ve been looking for storage options for a while, mostly for books but having the option for other things as well, and a dresser was too bulky while a book case was too narrow and tall. This is perfect. It’s well made and looks great. The back is pressed board with a wood laminate and there is definitely an order to install the back panels. There are no pre-drilled holes for the back panels, and while I did it through sheer willpower and determination, a power screwdriver would be helpful. The bookcase itself is very nice, but some holes didn't line up when putting it together. Also the top portion and the bottom portion do not line up flush across the front. They are offset from each other. I did not see anything explaining that the pegs that hold the shelves are made of plastic. Well to be perfectly honest, the delivery team was fantastic! They arrived as they indicated, they were, friendly, courteous, and ever so efficient. The bookcase arrived early enough to have placed all necessary items on the shelves long before the noon hour. However, once the packaging was removed, the bookcase put in its proper place the matter of how to remove the wood wedges (placed on the left and right sides) holding the shelves in place became the major obstacle of frustration. It's like getting in your car to take a drive, you open the door, take a seat, put the key in the ignition, turn the key or push the button and nothing happens, looking at the gas gauge, you realize you have no gas. Went online to your website, located the item page, found there were instructions on how to remove the wedges. It’s like being stranded in the desert with no water and no camel.
