Beautiful table! Easy to assemble with 2 people. (I would definitely recommend 2 people, I don't even know how it would be possible for 1 person...) The finish is not a dark brown/walnut, it has an orange tint to the wood tone. Can seat 6 people comfortably. (I highly doubt you can fit 8 people.) It's almost been a year and the table is still standing. We use it every night for our family of 5, and it's the go to table when guests arrive. HOWEVER, the table is starting to become squeaky. Any time you apply weight to the tabletop, or try to move the table, it squeaks.... LOUDLY. We've lubricated all the screws and joints, placed felt between the joining wood parts, and tightened the screws. It still makes A LOT of noise. Two assembly tips 1) For heaven’s sake, get a ball end Allen wrench when assembling the chairs! The inset bolts only allow a 20 turn with the Allen wrench that is provided. It took me an hour per chair with the provided tool, and only 15 minchair tops when I used a ball end wrench from another item I ordered. 2) Re the wood screws for the chairs and the table top note that the pre drilled holes for these do not go all the way through the material.
