The only thing that surprised me was the length. I was expecting them to be longer than they are. For ease of assembly, I assume if you order lighting like this, you know you are going to have to hire an electrician or know how to install lighting. I give that 5 stars as somebody besides me is installing them. For looks/function, I give them 5 stars. They've made our kitchen look like it's been upgraded somehow (which is exactly what a guest at my house said last night before I told her it was the lighting!). For quality, I give them 5 stars. The first step on the staircase was missing its trim and cutting a new one was not prohibitive so I bought this trim. It matches with the wood cove already in the house. I only used enough for around the curve and continued with wood cove. The instructions recommend using construction adhesive and nails so installation was easy.
