The locksmith came to install the lock and we discovered that two of the four batteries that came with the unit were dead. I called Wayfair's great customer service folks, who are sending out four fresh batteries. Normally this would not be an issue but I have never seen these batteries before. They are CR 123A 3V lithium batteries. In researching these, the internet says the batteries should have a 10-year shelf life, I don't know why they would be dead. The lock seems sturdy and very well made. I have three other keypad locks that take AA batteries and I am constantly replacing them. When I get power on the lock I will update my review.. Brenda. I’m really happy with the electronic deadbolt lock. It was super easy to install, and it did come with a paper that would make it easy. If you have to cut your own hole in a door, it fit into the existing hole that I had from the previous lock. It takes four AA batteries, and it tells you the battery life on the app to you, which is super cool because I can check the status of whether or not my door downstairs is locked from upstairs in my home. Each member of the House can have their face recognition on their and they can also have their own digital code, fingerprint palm scanner. I’m really happy about this because we have another electronic lock but it’s not near sophisticated and we never change the code because it’s a pain to do. This is super easy cause you can change it whenever you want and put temporary ones in place if you had a house sitter. It requires a six digit code. Especially like the fact that I can check the battery life because I’ve had my upstairs Lock run out of batteries and I didn’t realize it and ended up locked out and had to call locksmith so being able to see the battery life on the app will prevent that from happening. My old fridge, a Kenmore, started popping the circuit breaker after only 5 years. This new LG is fabulous! I’ve been through at least 5 different door locks and not one of them has held up like this one has. Installation was easy and quick, mostly because I’ve done this a few times already. The reason for 4 stars is because sometimes my fingerprint doesn’t work. I then have to type in the passcode when I was to lock and unlock the door. I also wish it came with 2 keys instead of one but that’s not a deal breaker. I don’t really use the app, but it’s there if I need it.
