Whoever uses the bathtub for bathing and showering would also want to be as flexible as possible when positioning the shower head. In the shower, hip height is sufficient as a lower limit; there you should perhaps opt for the 24" wallbar or you could go for a 36" wallbar depending on your needs. It brings incredible amounts of freedom of movement, making it perfect for families with children and grandparents. To help ensure that the shower hose is a perfect length it is included along with many bars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an antique "Pedestal Base" cast Iron tub with a ceiling mounted curtain surround. The Locarno 36" Wallbar allows me to mount a hand held shower head which is typically found on this vintage tub. The Wallbar has a sliding cradle which supports the shower head at any height desired by the bather. The cradle locks at the chosen height by a quarter turn of a simple lever. The Wallbar comes with a 63" chromed flexible hose which connects to the tub diverter faucet valve at one end and to your favorite shower head on the other end. The shower head connection fitting on the hose is tapered and just drops easily into the sliding cradle. The Wallbar installation is straight forward. A drilling template is included for convenience and installation instructions are included, although they are fairly simple with little amplifying information, such as drill bit sizes etc. Locarno recommends a qualified plumber do the installation, but any "Handy" person with common household tools should be able to install it. Locarno also cautions that the Wallbar not be used as a hand hold as it is only secured to the wall by two (2) wood screws. Nice piece, but it's really more of an institutional item and assumes that you are replacing an existing urinal or have framing in place to accommodate an install. Installing this in a dry-walled garage, for instance, will take some doing including cutting away drywall and add 2x4 supports. The slider appears to be well designed, but my example was improperly assembled. An autopsy revealed that the slider consists of the slider part that attaches to the rail, an adjustable angle part that holds the shower head, a hollow plastic axle that joins the two parts and a screw that screws into the axle to keep them together. In our example the plastic axle alone was unable to sustain the weight of the shower head and the stress of taking the shower head on and off the slider. The screw that held them together was too short and did not extend into the axle at the critical joint. If the screw had extended from the rotating part into the sliding part, the shower head would have been supported by the steel strength of the screw and it could not have sheared off. Perhaps this is what happened in the case of "Disgruntled Buyer" above as well. Moen should check that short screws are not contaminating their supply of longer screws for this part .. Tushka.
