It has a distressed look so the table top is not completely smooth - you'll need to lay down a writing pad to hand write. 24" depth is good for monitor and keyboard. The colors are stunning the desk is heavy and the materials dont look cheap or fake. I was apprehensive about the fake marble but it looks great. Ran into a couple issues while assembling bc there wasnt enough of certain kinds of screws. Also be mindful of the orientation you want the desk. This is a beautiful desk and very unique. It is incredibly sturdy. It provides a ton of work space without taking up a lot of space since you can tuck one part under the other. It requires minimal assembly. I wasn't impressed with the swivel part of this desk. For such a high quality desk, a wooden dowel holds the tops onto the base. I feel like there should have been more thought put into that. It swivels fine but the bottom desk section has scratches on it already from it rubbing together when you swivel it. Nice desk. Went with grey color and like it. Very heavy box and material. Material feels like it is made from that plastic that picnic or school tables are made with. Wood grain look is nicerealistic. I don’t think it will scratch easily. Because there are two configuration options it is quite confusing, mainly the drawer part, but holes lined up just fine. This is a beautiful desk. Looks just as good as it does in the picture. The chairs in my photo are also from Wayfair. I recommend paying the money to assemble. It took the two-person crew three hours. But it looks perfect. However, long after the assembly crew left, I realized the light on the front of the desk does not work. I absolutely love this desk. Obviously at this price, it is not going to be solid wood. It’s made of particle board in China but it looks so much nicer. Some pieces were a little dinged on the edges, but none of that shows once it’s built. I have it next to a high quality dresser in my bedroom and it fits right in. I love that the top lifts to a standing desk when needed. My husband assembled it on his own and knocked it out pretty quickly. He’s an angel. I would not have enjoyed the process, but he found it very easy. Wayfair shipped it quickly. The only major annoyance is that they used FedEx and my FedEx driver is too lazy to take it out of the truck to deliver it. My Ring camera caught him on two consecutive days coming to my door to take a picture of my empty porch. He didn’t knock or ring and I got notified that delivery was attempted but no one was home. Desks themselves are sturdy and stylish. The push doors are a nuisance, however. They are finicky and require perfection to open and close properly. It’s not necessarily the worst thing but can be annoying. The assembly was long and arduous (I worked alone so 2 people might work better).
