My first worry was will it arrive in one piece. The packaging of the sink was thick foam, fully cushioning it, protecting from bumps and knocks which occur in the normal delivery process. Fits perfectly in the space, no problems occurred in the install. Purchased an older home, gutted the kitchen, thought I’d save some money on an apron front, double sink. The double sink was lighter in weight constructed of thinner material. Had it for 2 years when it was damaged when a 3 qt cast iron Dutch oven pot bumped the bottom of the sink creating a hole. My handiman, said it should have chipped but not have caused a hole in it. The cost of the old one was roughly 250, you get what you pay for. The new sink has been cast from a heavier thicker material. First impression is ‘that sink is HUGE!’ It is 37” across, hard to find a drop in of this size. While inexpensive sinks look nice coming out of the box (resulting in glowing reviews), eventually their "value engineering" will catch up with them. Your kitchen is too important to cut corners, and nothing is used more than your sink. Make a sound investment with a product that has addressed glaze longevity. Fossil Blu fireclay sinks are comprised of solid genuine crystalline-silica fireclay. When paired with a silica-based glaze and fired at 2200 degrees, the two silicas fuse together, creating a new quartz-like material. As opposed to inferior ceramic sinks, which are usually hollow core, fired at lower temperatures, and exhibit little fusing, ours is far superior and engineered to remove even the possibility of hairline cracks/crazing. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and investment in Fossil Blu is worth every penny.

Our fireclay sinks are molded from a mixture of clay and other minerals, then glazed and fired in a kiln around 2900°F. The result is a glossy, durable ceramic, which is denser and stronger than porcelain. Its non-porous glaze will not absorb odors or stains, it will not scratch, and it is practically impervious to cracks and chips.

This apron sink has a graceful outward curve that adds elegance to your kitchen. The front three walls are fully built at a standard. The additional depth nestles into the cabinet. The fully built walls enable an easy installation, as it sits directly on the cabinet. The grooves facilitate excellent draining capabilities, towards a rear drain. Undercoated insulation over a rubber pad reduces noise while the sink is in use.
