The parts were surprisingly dusty, and it was in between layers within the box so it was definitely there before it was packaged. Not the end of the world, but it was a lot of pieces to wipe down as I assembled. It also seems like it wouldn't have cut into profits too much to put the screws in two separate bags so I didn't have to dump them all out to find the 10 small ones for the rotating base hardware. Also, the instructions were terrifying until I realized it was just the same thing over and over - then they felt redundant. I worried a little after I ordered this, but once I had it up, I knew I loved it. It was an unusual piece for me to get, but I simply didn't have floor space for a long bookcase and this seemed like a solution, as long as it didn't look cheap or odd, and it doesn't. I think it adds a unique touch to the room. I absolutely had to hire somebody, a professional carpenter who's a friend of mine, to put it together, I'm not at all handy, so there's no question of whether I could do it. He decided to glue it, which is not in the instructions, as he felt it would be more stable over time. $90.00 was the charge for an excellent professional. It still swivels very nicely on day four! Received today and assembly instructions are rather straightforward and took me about 10minutes to put together. I didn’t measure the height of my pantry shelves and it didn’t fit but I’m keeping regardless and ended up setting it on top of a small 3 drawer plastic organizer in pantry so no biggie! I love the functionality, the size as it will hold several spices; etc. Very sturdy organizer and I can see all of the spices I have on hand rather than rifling through and bottles falling everywhere like with my plastic 3 stair-step spice organizer. This is a bamboo shoe rack. Its simple design is very pleasing to the eye and highly versatile. The floor space is small and it saves space. It can hold approximately 24 pairs of adult women's shoes.
