This is a powerful hood vent! I only gave 4 stars because there are two metal vent pieces that fall off and crash down on our stove. I removed them because I was worried they would damage the stovetop. I may consider adding some Velcro or something to keep them from falling, but I really shouldn’t have to do that. We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. Don't buy this product. I made a mistake buying this product with zero reviews as my experience with Wayfair has been great so far. I assumed Wayfair wouldn't put cheap and low quality product on their website. Within 2 weeks of installation, the product LED light has started malfunctioning and now blinking with incorrect number 24x7 even when the insert if powered off. I did buy protection plan for the insert, however uninstalling this in custom hood and redoing the hood would cost me $1000 - $1200. At this point, I have no idea what to do. Live with the blinking light and wait for this product to die or request replacement, I won't take a hit of $1000 to get it reinstall the custom wood hood.. Pankaj. New Hyde Park, NY. We had 2 of these installed. The control panel became unattached on the first one and Wayfair sent us another range hood. I thought the first hood was pretty loud, but did an ok (just ok) job sucking smoke from the kitchen. But with the second hood, the installer noticed that the intake piece that is supposed to open when the hood was on has only half opening, which was causing the hood to be very loud.
