Please note that the wire around the center is part of the decoration - it wasn't mentioned in the instructions and I could see someone unraveling it thinking it was part of the cord (I almost did:)). The shade was easy to snap on and it was well protected in the box. If I gave any points off it would be that you can see the wire rim if you are standing up looking at the lamp and the charging port is easily reachable for the person on the right side of the bed but the person on the left side will have to turn the lamp to get to the port (not a big deal but a detail to be aware of). This fixture definitely takes time to put together because each antler goes into the centerpiece separately and then you have to wire each antlers, black and white wire to all the other black and white wires then connect the main wire, so there is quite some wiring to do on this fixture.
