I was looking for two new Pinecone Lamps...since one of ours, had been knocked off the nightstand, a few times...and my husband thought it might be dangerous to use. I was concerned about the height of the lamps...but once I got them...and got used to a bigger lamp...I love them. I did add a little antique gold paint accent to the tips of the pinecone itself...to make it blend a little better with some wall accents. Beautiful terracotta base. A substantial lamp that is full of earthy character. The shade didn't work for me though. Felt too big, and because I have the lamp sitting on a side table in our sunken living room, you could see too much of the inside and the bulb. I realized I needed an empire shade instead of a drum, so I had to spend the extra money to purchase a different shade. But I'm happy with the purchase overall. Note that you can see a "seam" (one on each side) where the potter put the two pieces together I assume. I like it and think it adds to the character, but others may not.. Andrea.
