These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Beautiful quality and perfect for a DIY standing desk I purchased this unfinished Acacia butcher block to use as the desktop for a standing desk build, and the final outcome is absolutely beautiful. Right out of the gate, the delivery was incredibly fast. The packaging was also fantastic—it was heavily protected and arrived in much better shape than other wood countertops I’ve purchased in the past. When I first lifted it, I noticed it was a bit lighter than I expected for solid wood. This is actually a huge positive; it tells me the manufacturer used a proper, thorough drying process, which means the wood is stable and much less likely to warp over time. The wood itself is extremely high quality. The block had one side with a perfectly formatted, gorgeous grain pattern, which I immediately chose as the top facing side for my desk. Since it comes unfinished, I applied my own oil and wax. As you can see in the photos I uploaded, the finish brought out the rich, natural colors of the Acacia perfectly. Have been using End Grain Acacia Solid Wood Cutting Board by another brand since December 2024 and it was the best buy I ever made. I purchased this Howard End Grain one as it was on sale and just in case I need a new board in the future. It comes very well packed as you can see in the photos. I have two sizes of cutting boards 17x13 and 15x20 and they are on different sides of my kitchen counters and I do everything on them. It is much better than the plastic cutting board as you can see the plastic coming off the board as you cut your vegetables, meat or chicken on it. This is completely natural as we leave all of our wood in its natural state with no varnishes or lacquers. So far I have been using these boards and other form the manufacture. The smaller boards I ordered from the company directly had an off gas these did not. So I am guessing they have fully cured. I bought these to try and stay away form plastics. It is always a question if the resin has any plastic in it which is hard to understand. That all said the boards are nice. Pleased with the quality of this cutting board. The 1.5”, which is recommended for durability, is quite heavy, so be aware. I store it in an extra large drawer below my cooktop, under my frying pans.
