Hanging was not the usual flat ceiling, i hung it on a vaulted ceiling in my garage, had to make a pitched board to compensate for this. Worked out well. One thing I didn’t realize until I read the instructions is they give you extra parts so you can either build one 6-shelf unit or two 3-shelf units which is a nice feature.
